Alocasia × amazonica
Also sold as: Polly
Alocasia x amazonica, widely sold under the cultivar name 'Polly', is a hybrid bred by Salvadore Mauro in Florida in the 1950s, crossing Alocasia sanderiana and Alocasia longiloba 'Watsoniana'. It has thick, glossy, dark green arrow-shaped leaves with sharply lobed margins and bold, contrasting silvery-white venation. It is one of the most widely grown Alocasia houseplants and has since spawned several derivative sports/mutations sold under their own trade names (e.g. 'Venom').
