Browsing without an account

The plant catalog and the map are open to everyone, and no account is needed to read them. An account adds personal features, such as My collection.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we keep:

• your email address, used to sign you in;
• your username, which you choose;
• the plants you mark as owned or wanted, and when you marked them;
• when you joined and when you last signed in.

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address with us. It may also share your name and profile picture. These are stored with your account by our sign-in provider. We do not display or use them.

How we use it

We use this information only to provide your account. We do not sell it, and we do not send marketing emails. The only emails we send are sign-in codes and replies to messages you send us. Your collection is visible only to you.

Service providers

We rely on trusted providers to run the site: hosting and visit statistics, account and database storage, email delivery, spam protection on our forms, and sign-in with Google if you choose it. They process data only to provide their service to us. Some of them may store data outside your country.

Cookies

We use one cookie, which keeps you signed in. The site cannot work without it, and we set no others. On the sign-in page, Google's sign-in button may use Google's own cookies.

Visits are counted without cookies, and you are not tracked across other websites.

Messages you send us

When you send us a message, it reaches us by email, together with the page you were on and your email address if you included one. Messages are not stored on the site.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information until you delete your account.

Your choices

From your Account page, you can at any time:

• download a copy of everything we hold about you;
• change your username;
• delete your account. This immediately removes your email address, username and collection.

For any other question about your data, write to admin@alocasia.net. We reply within one month. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Age

Accounts are for people aged 16 and over.

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will update it here and change the date above.
