HYBRIDAlocasia Balloon Heart
Alocasia 'Balloon Heart'
Alocasia 'Balloon Heart' is a nursery hybrid cultivar that first appeared in the Korean tissue-culture trade around 2021, with rounded, thick, puffy heart-shaped leaves and pale venation on glossy dark-green blades. Its parentage is not confirmed by any breeder documentation; most nursery listings attribute it to a cross of Alocasia sanderiana and Alocasia longiloba 'Watsoniana' -- the same parentage commonly claimed for 'Amazonica'/'Polly' -- though at least one source instead describes it as a mutation/sport of 'Amazonica' itself. Treat the parentage recorded here as a low-confidence trade claim, not verified fact.

Before you buy
Balloon Heart's pink form outprices its mint; both are uncommon.
- Pink here is uncommon and real, but check it isn't just sun-stress blush that fades in normal light.
- Mint is the more stable, lower-cost option if you want reliable variegation.
